Kids Miracle Making Club

Over 100 members of the Rochester Area Administrators of Volunteer Service (RAAVS) were asked to submit nominations for the 2010 Carol Ritter- Wright Award for Volunteer Services.  This award recognizes an individual volunteer or a volunteer group for their outstanding volunteer service in the greater Rochester Area.  This year CP Rochester's Volunteer Manger, Tina Bennett, nominated the Kids Miracle Making Club (KMMC) and they were very pleased that they were selected to receive the award!
Three years ago the KMMC expressed an interest in learning about professions that serve people with special needs.  During a toured CP Rochester various methods of physical therapy were discussed but specifically how the Wii game can help increase an individual’s mobility.  The group quickly decided to raise funds to help purchase a Wii with accessories to use in our program.  One member researched the benefits of “Wii therapy” and the group used that information to solicit donations.  Several weeks later CP Rochester was able to purchase the Wii game with accessories!
Similar projects have taken place over the past few years and the Club continues to offer enthusiastic support:
• face painting at our annual family fun 5K run for specific CP Rochester disability programs,
• passing out candy to the participants of the Al Sigl WALKabout,
• researched and provided equipment for our music therapy program,
• collected holiday gifts for some of our families in need,
• and many more.

Join us as we congratulate the Kids Miracle Making Club for being recognized
for their hard work and strong spirit!

June 9th the Kids Miracle Making Club accepted the Carol Ritter - Wright Award
