Scholastic Book Fair Update 2010

Our first Scholastic Book Fair was incredibly successful!  We made $2,243.08 after taxes, had 2 fun-filled family nights, and promoted literacy and hopefully encouraged interest and the love of books in our children.

This is a huge endeavor and could not be done without our many volunteers who helped with set-up, worked during the sale, and helped to pack up after the sale. A special thank you our volunteers Laura Borate, Shannon Weigel, Keisha Bonham, Alisa Waters, Takiyah Trent, Martha Unrath, Lisa Christensen, Alex Graff, Degan Call, Michael Serotta, Kristen Ricci, Mike Ricci, Rosemary Beckhorn, Dresden Olcott, Tom Cassata, Lindsay Clifford and Gretchen Spencer. Thank you also to Brian Klafehn for reading to the children on Tuesday and Thursday night, and to “Clifford” Sconfietti! Sandy was quite a hit with the children! The pajama party was wonderful due in part to the donation of the popcorn machine, popcorn and popcorn containers by Sue Truax. Thanks Sue! Thank you to all the staff and families that purchased books at the Fair. You made it all possible.

We have decided to use the profit that we realized to host a Family Fun Night for our children and their families. We plan to have another sale next year, so stay tuned! Thank you to all!
