Within the last year CP Rochester has expanded its clinic to offer therapeutic medical massage! The program was started in order to address the health and wellness of our special needs community as well as staff.
Massage for Stress
Massage acts on the nervous system to counteract the body’s response to stress, relaxing muscle tension and allowing heart rate, blood pressure and circulation to return to normal function. Massage also helps you become aware of hidden areas of tension that are being held within the body.
Massage for chronic pain
Few things are as distressing as chronic pain. Over time, pain can become a vicious cycle with a life of its own; sometimes persisting even after the original cause is resolved. Massage is one of the most overlooked, yet accessible supportive measure a person can seek for chronic pain. Massage can decrease muscle tension and pain, increasing range of motion. Massage floods the body with endorphins decreasing pain.
Massage for Individuals with special needs
One of the simplest gifts given to a person is the gift of human touch. The special needs population is greatly in need of this. Massage gives a nurturing healthy touch. Massage increase circulation especially for those who are wheelchair bound for the majority of the day. Massage assist by decrease bedsores as well as edema. Freeing up muscle tension held from contractors and or postural issues.

Our therapist is specially trained in massage for special needs patients and in medical massage modalities. CP is equipped with a fully adjustable heated massage table as well as appropriate transfer equipments when needed. |
